Kendal’s 1st Passive House

The first passive house in Kendal, built in 2015, achieves an 85 – 90% reduction on the normal heating load of a normal house and therefore massively reduces the carbon used to heat a home. This reduction is achieved by insulation and air tightness standards set by the Passivhaus Institute in Germany. Many local authorities across the UK are requiring new buildings to be built to Passive House standards.
